III.Речевая разминка.
Демонстрируются слайды с изображением пустынь.

Children, what deserts do you know? Show them on the map, please.
Участники из обеих команд по очереди выходят к доске, показывают пустыни на карте и дают комментарий.
This is the Sahara Desert. It’s the largest desert in the world.
This is the Gobi Desert. It’s the coldest desert in the world.
This is the Arabian Desert. It has lots of sand dunes.
This is the Kalahari Desert. San people live there.
This is the Turkestan Desert. There is lots of oil there.
This is the Australian Desert. Kangaroos live in the Australian Desert.
IV. Повторение лексики по теме.
Now is the competition of captains. Find the desert words and write them оn the board.
Капитаны получают карточки с буквами, из которых нужно составить слова по теме ,,Пустыня’’ и записывают их на доске, например:
nsad ------- sand

V. Фонетическая зарядка.
Учитель демонстрирует карточки со словами по теме «Пустыня». Повторяется
произношение слов sky, dry, hot, sun, desert, kangaroo, oil, camel, jeep, water, sand, oasis, snake, dune.

VI. Контроль домашнего задания. Проверка навыков монологической речи.
Children, what animals live in the deserts?
Ответы учащихся: Kangaroos live in the deserts.
Camels live in the deserts.
Snakes live in the deserts.
Lizards live in the deserts.

Представители от каждой команды демонстрируют слайды и рассказывают о животных пустыни.
The first team.
Camels are perfect for desert life. Camels’ toes are wide so that they can walk on the sand dunes. Camels have humps on their backs. These do not carry water. They carry food. Camels can drink a lot of water at once. They have two rows of eyelashes to keep sand out of their eyes. They can close their long noses. Camels have a think warm fur. People travel by camel in the Sahara Desert.
The second team.
Kangaroos live in the Australian Desert. They can be grey or red. Kangaroo has got a small head, a big body, a long tail and very long legs. It can jump 9m long and at 50km an hour. Kangaroos have got the pouch in which they carry their cubs.
They eat leaves and branches.

VII. Работа над развитием навыков аудирования.
1.Учащиеся слушают рассказы представителей команд о животных пустыни и стараются понять и запомнить информацию, содержащуюся в них.
2.Контроль аудирования рассказов о животных.
Участники обеих команд имеют по три карточки: с изображением верблюда, с изображением кенгуру и пустую карточку. Учитель произносит словосочетания из прослушанных текстов, а также словосочетания, не содержащиеся в текстах. Учащиеся должны поднять нужную карточку.

VIII. Работа над развитием навыков чтения.
Используется материал раздела 12a на диске Way Ahead CD-ROM 4.
Now is the next task. Look at the picture and imagine: you are in the desert. Read the sentences and drag the objects into the picture by turns. I ask one person from each team to the board.
The camel is drinking the water.
The snake is between the trees, in the oasis.
The jeep is on the left of the trees.
The hump is on the camel.
The oil is on the right, behind the oasis.
The sand dunes are behind the jeep.
The man is driving the jeep.

IX. Физкультминутка.
Stand up, please! We have a rest.
Упражнение проводится с использованием джазового напева ,,This, that, these, those”.
This, that, these, those. This, that, those, these.
Snap your fingers, Shrug your shoulders,
Touch your toes. Bend your knees.
Учащиеся имитируют движения учителя и повторяют текст напева.
This- правая рука отводится в сторону,
That- левая рука отводится в сторону,
These- обе руки вытянуть вперёд,
Тhose- обе руки разводятся в разные стороны.

X. Работа над совершенствованием грамматических навыков на материале глаголов в форме будущего простого времени в устной речи и письменной речи.
1. Работа над устной речью.
Children, you will find some interesting things in the desert.
Where will you find kangaroos?
Ответ учащихся: We will find kangaroos in the Australian Desert.
Where will you find camels?
We will find camels in the Sahara Desert.
Where will you find a lot of oil?
We will find a lot of oil in the Turkestan Desert.
Where will you find San people?
We will find San people in the Kalahari Desert. Where will you find lots of sand dunes?
We will find a lot of sand dunes in the Arabian Desert.
