The 6th faculty was founded in 1975 on the base of corresponding department of the 5th (Radiotechnics) faculty and until 1992 it was the «Systems Egineering faculty». The faculty is by far the most prestigious in the entire university, judjing by the contest in 2008 being 2 persons per place and entrants' total exam marks. Much attention at the 6th faculty is paid to information technologies (IT) and students recieve exceptionally deep knowledge in the fialds of programming, mathematics and modelling, which aids them in job placement.
