Father: It was really wonderful. I always like to go to church, especially on Christmas Eve. Mother: Me too. Sam: Oh, we forgot to switch off the video. ( Подходит и выключает телевизор.) Father: (усаживаясь в кресло). Well, the spirit of Christmas comes to the houses with Santa Claus. Mother: He drives his sleigh over the rooftops and slides down the chimneys to fill the children’s stockings … Father: … but only if … Bill: … only if what? Father: Only if they are good little children. Jane: And if not? Mother: He leaves a piece of coal. Jane: And what about me? Have I been good? Father: Yes, you’re all good, kids. Bill, Sam, Jane (хором). Hooray! Jane: So I’ll hang my stocking over the fireplace. (Подходит к камину и вешает свой чулок). Mother: I’m sure your brothers may leave their stockings out for Santa to fill with presents, too. Мальчики подходят к камину и вешают свои чулки. Father: (встаёт). Well, dear children, you know Santa comes only if you’re asleep. And it’s time to go to bed. I will read you the poem “Twas the Night Before Christmas” and Mom will sing you a carol “Silent Night”.
