Take all my loves, my love, yea, take them all;
What hast thou then more than thou hadst before?
No love, my love, that thou mayst true love call;
All mine was thine before thou hadst this more.
Then if for my love thou my love receivest,
I cannot blame thee for my love thou usest;
But yet be blamed, if thou thyself deceivest
By wilful taste of what thyself refusest.
I do forgive thy robb'ry, gentle thief,
Although thou steal thee all my poverty;
And yet love knows it is a greater grief
To bear love's wrong than hate's known injury.
Lascivious grace, in whom all ill well shows,
Kill me with spites, yet we must not be foes.

Good morning, my dear friends. I am a magician. I invite you to join me in my tour around the Kingdom that you won’t find on any map. It’s cold William Shakespeare’s Kingdom. I think you will have a nice trip. Now make yourselves comfortable. Shut your eyes. Clap your hands three times. Say the magic words: «One, two, three - to be or not to be!»

One, two, three - to be or not to be!»

Open your eyes, please.

My dear friends, look! It’s William Shakespeare. More has been written about the greatest English dramatist and poet than about any other writer. And yet many facts of his life are unknown to us. He was porn on the 23rd of April 1546 in a small town Stratford-Upon-Avon. What a marvelous place! I would like you to visit it one day. Shakespeare’s father was a well-to-do-merchant. There were eight children in their family. William was the third child. In his childhood William went to grammar school. He learnt Latin, Greek and many other interesting subjects. Shakespeare knew a lot. After finishing grammar school he was a teacher at the same school.

At the age of 18 Shakespeare married Ann Hathaway, a farmer’s daughter, who was eight years older than himself. He expressed his feelings of love in verse.

My glass shall not persuade me I am old,
So long as youth and thou are of one date,
But when in thee time's furrows I behold,
Then look I death my days should expiate:
For all that beauty that doth cover thee
Is but the seemly raiment of my heart,
Which in thy breast doth live, as thine in me.
How can I then be elder than thou art?
О therefore, love, be of thyself so wary
As I not for myself but for thee will,
Bearing thy heart, which I will keep so chary
As tender nurse her babe from faring ill:
Presume not on thy heart when mine is slain;
Thou gav'st me thine, not to give back again.

Shakespeare had three children: Susanah, the eldest, then twins - a son Hamnet who died at the age of eleven and another girl Judith. But they say that his marriage was not a happy one. The life in Stratford became impossible for Shakespeare, there was no work to earn money, so he decided to go to London. There he made friends with many actors. Soon he began to write plays. Sometimes he worked as an actor. But the actors in London didn’t have their own theatre. That’s why they built a theatre and called it «Globe». There was a sign on its door «All the world’s a stage.» (На экране сцена из спектакля «Гамлет») Shakespeare wrote 2 long poems, 37 plays. Among them are «Hamlet», «King Lear», «Macbeth», «Othello», «Romeo and Juliet»… He also wrote 154 sonnets.

Then hate me when thou wilt, if ever, now
Now while the world is bent my deeds to cross,
Join with the spite of Fortune, make me bow,
And do not drop in for an after-loss.
Ah do not, when my heart has scaped this sorrow,
Come in the rearward of a conquered woe;
Give not a windy night a rainy morrow,
To linger out a purposed overthrow.
If thou wilt leave me, do not leave me last,
When other petty griefs have done their spite,
But in the onset come; so shall I taste
At first the very worst of Fortune's might;
And other strains of woe, which now seem woe,
Compared with loss of thee, will not seem so.

And now listen to the song after this sonnet performed by Alla Pugachova.

Волшебник: (под инструментальную музыку) The public theatres for which Shakespeare wrote his plays were quiet different from those today. (Фото театра) They were built of wood. The main part of the theatre was open to the sky. Those spectators who could not pay much for the tickets stood in the pit. Rich men sat in the galleries and were allowed to seat on the stage. That’s why the galleries and the stage were roofed. Since the pit of the theatre was open to the sky, the performance depended entirely on the weather. Flags were raised when a play was to be given, but if the weather suddenly changed for worse, the flags were pulled down and the performance did not take place. Performances always began in broad daylight and lasted for 3 hours. There was no scenery in the modern sense. There were merely a few tables, chairs. Sometimes an actor would come on the stage and say: «You shall have Asia on one side and Africa on the other» or «We must believe the stage to be a garden». All women’s parts were played by boys and young men. Shakespeare spent the last years of his life in Stratford, where he died on the same date of his birth the 23rd of April 1616 (Фото церкви). He was buried in the church of Stratford. A monument was erected to the memory of the great playwright in Westminster Abbey Shakespeare’s works made him immortal. We laugh and cry with Shakespeare’s characters. Life goes on. And I invite you to our theatre. You’ll see a scene from the immortal story about two lovers Romeo and Juliet Unfortunately, they died but they didn’t stop loving each other. They stayed young forever. The actors are waiting for you.

Juliet:

Wilt thou be gone? It is not yet near day: It was a nightingale, and not the lark, That pierc’d the fearful hollow of thine ear; Nightly she sings on yon pomegranate tree: Believe me, love, it was the nightingale.

Romeo:

It was the lark, the herald of the morn, No nightingale: look, love, what envious streaks Do lace the severing clouds in yonder east: Night’s candles are burnt out, and jocund day Stands tiptoe on the misty mountain tops: I must be gone and live, or stay and die.

Juliet: Yon light is not daylight, I know it, I: It is some meteor that the sun exhales, To be to thee this night a torch-bearer, And light thee on thy way to Mantua: Therefore stay yet; thou need’st not to be gone.

Romeo:

Let me be ta’en, let me be put to death I am content, so thou wilt have it so. I’ll say yon grey is not the morning’s eye. “Tis but the pale reflex of Cyntia’s brow; Nor that is not the lark, whose notes do beat The vaulty heaven so high above our heads: I have more care to stay than will to go: Come, death, and welcome! Juliet wills it so. How is’t, my soul? Let’s talk; it is not day.

Juliet:

It is, it is, hie hence, be gone away! It is the lark that sings so out of tune, Straining harsh discords and unpleasing sharps. (Звучит произведение Перголези) Some say the lark makes sweet division; This doth not so, for the divideth us Some say the lark and loathed toad change eyes; O! now I would they had changed voices too, Since arm from arm that voice doth us affray, Hunting thee hence with hunts-up to the day. O! now be gone; more light and light it grows.

Romeo:

More light and light; more dark and dark our woes.

Enter Nurse

Nurse: Madam!

Juliet: Nurse!

Nurse:

Your lady mother is coming to your chamber: The day is broke; be wary, look about. (Exit.)

Juliet: Then, window, let day in, and let life out.

Romeo: Farewell, farewell! One kiss, and I‘ll descend. (Descends.)

Juliet:

Art thou gone so? My lord, my love, my friend! I must hear from thee every day in the hour, For in a minute there are many days: O! by this count I shall be much in years Ere I again behold my Romeo.

Romeo:

Farewell! I will omit no opportunity That may convey my greetings, love, to thee.

Juliet: O! Think’st thou we shall ever meet again?

Romeo:

I doubt it not; and all these woes shall serve For sweet discourses in our time to come.

Juliet:

O God! I have an ill- divining soul: Methinks I see thee, now thou art so low, As one dead in the bottom of a tomb: Either my eyesight fails, or thou look’st pale.

Romeo:

And trust me, love, in my eye so do you: Dry sorrow drinks our blood. Adieu! Adieu. (Exit)

Juliet:

O fortune, fortune! All men call thee fickle: If thou art fickle, what dost thou with him That is renown’d for faith? Be fickle, fortune; For then, I hope, thou wilt not keep him long,

But send him back.

Our trip is coming to an end. Thank you. Please, shut your eyes, clap your hands and repeat the magic words: «All is well that ends well». (На экране выплывают слова «All is well that ends well»)
